Winning the First Prize in the International Organ "Franz Liszt" in Budapest (Hungary, 1978), Francesco Finotti started a brilliant career, performing in the most important international organ festivals.
While he was a teacher at the Conservatory "Pollini" of Padua at the High Specialization "Organ School" of the Romano Romanini Foundation of Brescia and now a teacher at the "Organ School" dell'Opsa Sarmeola (Padua), he was faced with the problems of a modern design and construction of the instrument. He realizes his own system of calculation on the computer of the 'corpi sonori' and publishes the first Italian edition (July '99) of the theoretical works of Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, the great builder of organs.
His discography includes music by Schumann, Liszt, Franck, J. S. Bach, Mozart, Messiaen, Dupré, Langlais, Satie. Numerous radio recordings are transmitted by major European broadcasters. He is an honorary organist of the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in Abano Terme (Padova).
