Christoph Schiller

Born in Zurich, Switzerland. He studied with Georges Janzer and Bruno Giuranna.

Winner of the Soloist's Prize 1976 of the Swiss Musician's Association. He performs as a soloist with conductors such as Erich Leinsdorf, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Armin Jordan, Myung-Whun Chung, Eliahu Inbal. Chamber music partner of Martha Argerich, Felicity Lott, Bruno Canino, Heinz Holliger, Antony Pay, Mischa Maisky, Aurèle Nicolet, the Sine Nomine, Smetana and Prazak Quartet.

Schiller is a member of the New Zurich String Quartet 1973-1988, Ensemble MOBILE and the ARIA String Quartet 1993-2004. Presently he is a violist with the Quatuor Schumann, Geneva, and the lucerne string trio. He has numerous CD recordings with these groups and as a soloist. Extended tours in Europe, Scandinavia, Israel, North and South America, Africa and the Far East.

He is a Viola and Chamber Music professor at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Schiller holds master Classes in Europe, North and South America. He is jury member at International Competitions and he conducts Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.

In 2016 he is awarded the «Golden Bow» by the Foundation Swiss School of Violin making in Brienz.
