EVOCATIONS
CONCERTS OF THE ASCONA MUSIC FESTIVAL THAT HAVE MOVED PEOPLE AND WILL MOVE THOSE WHO ARE PRESENT

Music has the power to evoke already-experienced and new emotions, transforming them and making them present in our consciousness.
Across four unforgettable evenings, the first cycle of โ€œEvocationsโ€ of the Festival brings together an exclusive series of previously-recorded concerts selected from the many important programmes carried out during the Festivalโ€™s journey, to celebrate and relive experiences of exciting chamber concerts played by remarkable musicians who are true friends in and of Classical Music.

The video concerts are unpublished documents and will be presented for the first time in celebration of the 14th anniversary of the Ascona Music Festival. They represent many intense years dedicated to classical music and to those who love it both locally and internationally and who follow the Festivalโ€™s artistic and cultural initiative with fondness and support.

A wide repertoire has been chosen, to experience firsthand the emotion felt by the public and to renew those feelings, thanks to the evocations of these musical acts which live outside of time, as happens in true artistic experiences.
Performances of Beethoven, Robert and Clara Schumann, Brahms, Dvoล™รกk, Smetana and Rachmaminoff will be presented with the highest levels of evocative interpretation, with the presence of the pianist Daniel Levy, artistic director of the Festival. Artists include cellist Stephan Rieckhoff, violinist Robert Zimansky, the Carmina Quartet (Zurich), soprano Cristina Mantese and clarinetist Dmitry Rasul Kareyev.

These exceptional programmes can be enjoyed in the beautiful and pure setting of the Chiesa Evangelica di Ascona, in front of Monte Veritร .

An extraordinary and touching audiovisual will also be shared along with the precious document "Venerating Veniceโ€, with works by the painter Marga Baigorria (watercolours and artistic photographs), illustrated with musical pieces, which the artist presented in the Festival programme through the exhibition "Painting with Light - Transparencies", at the Gallery 'Il Cavalletto' in Locarno.

For the festivalโ€™s international audience and for those who will not be able to be present, the videos will also be available online on-demand on the UK platform TicketCo.

These โ€œEvocationsโ€ employ the sound of the piano to celebrate and remember the great geniuses of Music that transmit Euphony for the joy and harmony of all, from heart to heart.
