DANIEL LEVY
THE PIANO & HUMAN VALUES
The Piano & Human Values is an artistic and cultural project by the renowned musician Daniel Levy, to which he has devoted decades of work.
It has taken shape in a distinguished collection of high-quality recordings, created to highlight the transformative power of music and its ability to convey profound emotions and feelings, as well as a rich spectrum of human values that ennoble the human spirit.
Without empathy, respect, humility, sincerity, gratitude, responsibility, mutual understanding and so many other essential values that give dignity to human life, the world would become an arid desert of machines and artificial circumstances, a world of illusions devoid of reality, where what truly matters loses its meaning and superficiality and pragmatism prevail.
Music gives expression to the highest human values and embodies a practical ideal that leads us towards the art of Knowing How to Listen.
This Edition, presented with great pleasure by Edelweiss Emission and the Odeon Institute of the International Academy of Euphony, seeks to encourage, inspire, cultivate and nurture those timeless human values that, through Music, have the power to help individuals flourish.
“If the future of music is in the hands of musicians like Daniel Levy, then, personally, I do not think there is much to worry about.”
Ian Lace, Fanfare Magazine

“Levy’s performance speaks of the human condition, and what it says both expresses and elicits deep feeling.”

“I cannot recall hearing quite so graceful a lilt at the soloist’s initial entrance in the first movement as here. Throughout, there’s the consistent grain of humanity in Levy’s contribution: while many pianists give the impression of projecting this music, Levy seems to be listening to and relishing it as he goes. Fischer-Dieskau and the Philharmonia provide warm, rolling, luminously singing
support…”
David Breckbill, BBC Music Magazine

“I suoi momenti più magici sono quelli in cui i tempi musicali sembrano scaturire da una fonte diversa da quella a cui attingiamo nel nostro monotono universo quotidiano.”
Dominy Clements, Musicweb International
