SILVIA CATTANEO - pianist

Silvia is a recipient of several International Piano Competitions prizes, such as the 'Camillo Togni International' prize from Gussago, Brescia; the International Piano Competition of Rome, Italy; the 'Cervo' prize in Liguria, Italy; the 'Monterosa Kawai' and the 'City of Asti' prizes in Piedmont, Italy.

She is a 2012 recipient of the prestigious Rotary 'Paul Harris' Fellow recognition by the Rotary Club Milano Settimo District 2040.

She performed extensively as a soloist both nationally and internationally, within institutions and festivals such as the 'G. Verdi' Conservatory of Milan, the 'Mi-To' Festival, the Italian Culture Institute of Stockholm, Triennale Art Theatre, and many others. She has been invited to play in Sweden at the Aurora Kammarmusik Höstfestival of Vänersborg and she performed live at Radio Classica and Radio SRF 2 Kultur.

Together with her sister and award-winning violinist Stella Cattaneo, she has won the 3rd Prize in the Chamber Music Competition of Riccione, Italy. As a duo ("Duo Cattaneo"), they hold a Master Degree in Chamber Music from the Academy of Music of Florence, under Maestro Pier Narciso Masi. She is also a third of "Trio Zart", together with Rossana Cauti (viola) and Mirco Bussi (clarinet) and together with Jonas De Geyndt (piano) she's playing as "Joia Duo". She is part of the artistic direction of the Foundation Organ of Basilica San Babila where she also performs as deputy-organist.

Silvia holds a degree in Piano with the highest honors from the 'G. Verdi' Conservatory of Milan and a Diploma from the Academy of Music of Pinerolo, Italy. She trained under the guidance of Maestri A. Rebaudengo and V. Balzani, as well as Maestri M. Abbado, V. Dvorkin, G. Kurtág, E. Pace, O. Marshev, R. Risaliti and F. Scala. She holds Master Degree in Music Pedagody in Lugano, Switzerland with M° M.Harsch and she is a candidate for the Master Degree in Advanced Studies with M° N.Doallo.
